Learn about Community Land Trusts!
On September 10th, from 6 pm to 8 pm, Proud Ground is hosting an informal conversation to help people learn more about Community Land Trusts and long-term affordable homeownership.
Progress at Alberta Alive continues to move at a steady pace, and we’ve reached more milestones worth celebrating as we get closer to welcoming our first homeowners.
Inside the Buildings
Building B reached an important interior milestone: drywall and drop ceiling inspections were approved by the City, and taping finishes are underway. Walking through the units now, you can really start to see the shape of each home taking form — clean lines, generous windows, and the kind of natural light that makes a space feel like home from day one.
Meanwhile, Building A is right behind, with drywall installation actively moving through the units.
Outside the Buildings
Exterior paint colors have been finalized! Stay tuned for updated renderings.
Our exterior teams have been hard at work on the west-facing sides of both buildings, installing the weather-resistant barrier, rain screen, and siding. If you've driven by the site recently, you've likely seen the scaffolding up and crews installing the vertical siding panels that will define the building's modern, textured look once painting is complete.
On the ground, site work crews poured concrete for the patios and porches — another step toward the outdoor living spaces that will give each townhome-style condo its own private outdoor footprint.
Looking Ahead
Every week brings Alberta Alive closer to being move-in ready, and every inspection passed and wall finished is a step closer to putting keys in the hands of eight new homeowners in the Alberta Arts District. Stay tuned for more updates as we move through fall.
